The School System![]() Schools are another group that has a major investment in the obesity epidemic. Many students get at least one of their three meals at school, but many schools are not providing the students with healthy meals. If the schools are not providing the students with healthy meals, there is a big possibility that the school meals are contributing to obesity. Since some schools are providing students with unhealthy meals that contribute to obesity, these school systems are playing a part in contributing to obesity. Studies show that the school systems that have the unhealthiest lunches are the poorest schools. This means that these school systems are only able to get the students food that is rather cheap. Of course the school system wants the students to be healthy, but they have to also consider their funds. Schools support the fight against obesity and are often willing to implement changes to help the health of their students, but many schools can only do this with financial assistance.
